just gave u my 'fave' but the general consensus
focuses more on combination of
apache [web server]
plus mysql [database]
plus php [scripting engine]

Getting all of these to work together is not a trivial task, and
other developers have seen it.
There's a sweet bundle of these three PLUS A LOT OF GREAT tools up

I think it's ironic they have fox in the name - but this is a good bundle if you are just 'making the leap', as you can get the distros that run for Windows all in one package [linux too, of course] and they all install properly, without one having to read too much [which is a royal PITA for most folks, I find]. Most of the tools that have been ported to Windows run 'similar' if not exactly the same, in linux servers and workstations.
