>Good luck getting your new machine online. I upgraded this summer, after getting back to work. (I was out for 15 months, just after buying a house. Kind of enjoyed the break for a little while, though.) It was long overdue, I had a P3 450MHz. Now I have a P4 4.2GHz, with a gig of RAM! Even Windows XP loads noticeably faster, finally. Still, it's not as instant as I'd like. I guess when we replace the C: drive with a flash-RAM drive, maybe that will happen, or maybe Microsoft will make it load slowly on purpose(sometimes I wonder).

Dana,
Since I had some unfinished work, I hooked the old machine back up. Here's some sample code
oImage = CREATEOBJECT("Image")
oImage.Picture = GETPICT('jpg')
? oImage.Height
? oImage.Width
The new box is a P4 2.8 ghz, but here at the office we're running Win2K Pro. At home, I've got an Athon XP 2000+ (1.67 ghz). XP Home boots up about as fast as I could ask for and I don't expect to see that much of a performance difference between my home box and the one at work because of the differences in chip design and the fact that the home machine doesn't have to load network drivers, etc.
