Run some high voltage through the keyboard port and suggest they get a new computer:-)
Check this link - an attempting to reinstall issue related to folder locations.
http://www.foxyclasses.com/install_shield.htmItem 1) Did you include all the necessary Merge Modules...
>We've triple checked these. Unless ISE is not operating as advertised (no way!) this isn't the issue.ISE has issues, for sure:-) He does all sorts of things with my project folders. For example, I have a root folder that contains related projects. Before ISE I could rename the root folder. After ISMs were created, I got "access denied", even though ISE was as dormant as a shortcut.
As far as registry / permissions etc, it occurs on every computer here in the office and my computer at home - no permissions involved and our application does not access the registry.Does it work when the runtimes and app exe and tables are "copied" and not installed to a user folder?
I was just remebering issues when a client had older versions of certain DLLs, and the app being installed had newer ones (with the same name). I think the clients help desk figured out they needed to delete the DLLs so the newer ones would install. If you app is calling a function in the new versions, and ISE did not (or was not able) to overwrite the old one it leads me suspect that the function call, relaizing the wrong something-or-other was there was attempting then attempt to install the right one.

>Item 2) ISE seems to have issues with "rebuilds".
>If you're meaning I should recreate the install from scratch, we've tried that too, still happens.

>Item 3) Before you reinstall delete the "old" app under "Add/Remove PRograms".
>Always. Don't really have much choice in Win2k / XP. They won't let you install the app as long as it's still in the add/remove programs.
