>>Thanks Marcia for responding, but the Intl kit will be costing around $595 if I am not mistaken in Rupees terms that is 27370 the cost of one PIV machine. The another factor is will the client foot the bill for a software and a software for the software developer? Noooo.

>About developer tools, you should never pass the cost to the customer, but take it as part of your own cost. You have to take in consideration that you'll be the one owning the license, and you could amortize it trough several other projects, not to mention the time you can save for this first one.

>Anyway, the exchange rate is a big problem many times, making the cost of some tools equivalent to several local man months. What you should really consider is if after spending such many months of development, you'll end up with a solid tool that (even if not comparable with the INTL toolkit) cover all your needs. Another issue is how much an already bulit tool can speed up your project.

>Best luck,

Yup this is one project and I don't know when again I will receive a similar project, the conversion rate I used is the current one Rs.46/- to a dollar but it was around Rs.50/- some time back. Plus I am still in the proposal stage for an internet based fat client based app which has to provide the interface in French and English.

Any advise (tips and traps) for such an app proposal. I am considering FireBird as the back-end and VFP as the Fatty <g>.
