As I understand it, the 'Index on deleted() tag anyname' is used by Rushmore to reduce referencing the DBF itself when the 'SET DELETED ON' implied filter is set. The name of the tag does not matter, it is the 'DELETED()' expression that is important. Second, Rushmore ignores any conditional indices, i.e. 'FOR...' on the index command turns off Rushmore's use of the tag.
