Thanks Andrew,

I have already done those things. The lines that are blank are actually not printing, and there is no space left for them. The part of the report that prints on and individual page is exactly what I want. My problem seems to be that when there is not enough space left on the page to contain a full detail band for the next record assuming that all the lines will be full, FoxPro ejects to the next page for that detail item. Regardless of the amount of data that is really in that detail record. I would like the decision to be based on what is really going to print.

I could accept the detail band not being preserved on a single page as that would be a better solution than what I am getting now.

There is an option when setting up data grouping to set the amount of space that is required at the bottom of the page before starting a new group, but I can't find anything to deal with the problem I am having on the detail band.

>In the Print When options for each field there is a 'Remove Line when blank' option. If you switch that on for all the fields that could be blank then the empty lines will be ignored. If you have headings for the fields you will need to set the label's 'Print only when expression is true' test to print only when the field is not empty. You will also need to switch on the label's 'Remove Line when blank' option. This will still leave any vertical white space between lines but should give some improvement.

>>I have a form with a long detail band. It can be up to about 4 inches long. Most times, many of the lines are blank and are set not to print. When the form run, if there is not enough space to include a full band at the bottom of the page, the band is printed on the next page. This leaves three or more inches of blank space at the bottom of each page. Is there some way to only skip to a new page if the actula data that will be in the band will not fit on the page. I want to keep the detail band together on a page, but I don't want to waste so much space at the bottom.
