For now, I can give you a workaround, I think, as follows: use the expression

alias()

as the targetAlias value for your *second* detail band (*not* the first).

No quotes, this is an expression. Since you're using only one table here, this will be the driving alias (selected workarea) for your report...

... please let me know if this works for you, and also, if you don't mind, include the information about the difference of behavior with the target alias in your bug report, assuming you see it.

I'm seeing that it works, but it might only affect specific cases, your repro might be different from exactly what I did here. So, just in case, if the above workaround does *not* work, you may want to provide the exact FRX with your report.
