Lisa,

Thanks for the response.

Let me rephrase what I have already said. I just wanted to ask if there was a way to disable CTRL+SHIFT+TAB, or get other ideas as how to deal with the problem I was having. Apparently there is no way to disable CTRL+SHIFT+TAB. You gave me your idea as for a way to work around the problem, and I appreciate it.

I also wanted to point out that in my opinion this is a bug in VFP's report preview window behavior (in VFP8 and VFP9). VFP's report window is advertised as modal, but in the case I pointed out, it's not acting modal. Anyone with an app that issues the REPORT FORM somereport PREVIEW command in VFP8 may run into this problem, and I'm sure there are quite a few apps out there that contain this command.

As I said before, but I will say again, at this time I'm not interested in rewriting our reporting routines, just looking for an easy fix. We have a large app and this problem is minor enough that I don't think it warrants much of a change to deal with it. If I could disable CTRL+SHIFT+TAB, that would be an easy fix. Your idea was to treat the modal report preview window as if it wasn't modal at all, and I'm not interested in that approach.

Now, it's my experience, that when VFP comes up with a new way to do something, everyone doesn't right away run to their computers and rewrite all their code to use the new feature. When VFP 9.0 is actually released, and we have the time, I'm sure we will change our code to use VFP 9.0's new report preview feature, however, if I recompile our app today, using the VFP 9.0 beta, without changing anything, the bug still exists. I think it's a bug, so I reported it as such. It's relatively minor, and maybe some people don't think its worth fixing, or even worthy of being called a bug, and maybe their right, and maybe it will never be fixed, but in my opinion, it is a bug.

I really hope this is clear now.

Thanks...........Murray

>However you have not tried new-style preview in the beta, have you? If you had, you wouldn't be saying this, I'm pretty sure...

>Granted it's not behaving perfectly well at the moment, but it certainly doesn't let you alt-tab between forms.

>Object-assisted preview in 9 is a "normal" VFP form and therefore doesn't need a "fix" to do what you want. It is VFP-form-style modal unless you use NOWAIT on it (in which case, of course it isn't <s>).
