Translation is one thing where open source really shines - over the years I've got Firefox, LibreOffice, Thunderbird and a few other things in serbian version, and it's so obvious that they were translated manually. Comparing with pages coming from Microsoft, Google and a few others, one sees they're trying to apply machine translation as far as it takes them, and the results are all across the spectrum between disaster and insult.
