Application Development -- FUDG Members Best Practices - Tuesday, August 5th, 2003 at 17h15
Come out for a tag team presentation by our members explaining the design decisions and ingenuity that make their applications great. Certain kinds of apps are shown over and over again in slick marketing demos and text books. Our members have addressed these in their own experience and found some to be trickier in reality that than might be expected. How they were handled, what principles of software development were affirmed or violated.
Sample subjects:
Customer management
Inventory control
Course registration
Membership
League rosters and scheduling
Internet order taking
Volunteer to present on one or somthing of your choosing.
There is a tremendous amount of domain knowledge among our membership, the kind of wisdom often overlooked in developer presentations which focus on the latest and greatest technical features. For one evening let's focus instead on practical business problems.
Mike Bean volunteers to present on inventory control.
Place: 2 N LaSalle, Suite 500, Date August, 5th. Time 5:15 pm
In September we'll have Hector Correa speaking on Structured Error Handling and ASP.NET.
