C# DotNet and SQL Server from a VFP perspective - Tuesday, July 14th, 2009 at 18h30
Tom Corrigan had the dreaded Error Reading Drive C just before he was to present at the June Meeting. He will cover his topic at the regular meeting July 14. His talk:
"How to set up a Windows Forms data editing solution using C# .Net and SQL Server from the perspective of a VFP programmer"
- Database concepts: C# approach vs. VFP approach
- Organizing the solution into projects
- Implementing the MVC (ModelViewController) paradigm
- Tips and tricks for keeping things simple
All the code involved will be available to attendees.
In additon we will be offering a 6 week intro course in C # taught by Marc Temkin, a computer science lecturer at Columbia College. Tuition is $300, and we are planning for Tuesday nights beginning August 4th at our Tech Nexus location.
Our August meeting will move to Saturday morning/afternoon, the 15th for an extended session with two SW Fox presenters: Jody Meyer and Cathy Pountney. Watch for details at http://www.ChicagoFUDG.com
